Mad Max 1 MFP Police car

Here is a resin kit of the famous Ford Falcon driven by Mel Gibson, in the beginning of Mad Max 1.

This kit is from Planet X, an Aussie company (I think). For a small-scale production, the kit is very complete (you don't need to use a donor kit). Even the rear-view mirror, the shifter & other small bits are included. I have sanded mine to eliminate the casting problems, then primered it with Tamiya white primer. After that, I used a touch-up spray can (VW "rallye gelb") to paint the yellow, & when dry, I masked carefully & painted the red & blue parts with Tam spray cans. The fine white line is included as a decal. Then, everything was wet sanded & polished (Micro-Mesh).

For the interior, I airbrushed some Gunze tan colour, then painted the details & flocked Ken's carpeting.

I just added a scratchbuilt rear police antenna, & replaced the kit-supplied wheels. They were hardly usable resin one-piece castings, so I used Arii's '72 Thunderbird ones, with parts-box tires.
